T.I.L.T.

It has been a long while but since this is such a crazy week I'm going to do a list to remind me of the good things!

• Teenage boy who goes to sleep at 9PM without a fight cuz they are so exhausted!
• Teenage boy who says I don't have to get up at 5:30AM tomorrow to make his lunch cuz he wants to leave the house BEFORE 6AM to go to before school soccer practice.
* Warm days like today and tomorrow.
• COSTCO bagels for breakfast, need I say more?
• Good friends gathering on Monday!

Busy Week!

This weekend coming up H's school is having their annual school exhibition and during this the PTA holds a bazaar and Parents Lounge. Since I volunteered to be a class mom this year I have to work on these. Today we went through the items that were donated for the bazaar and I was shocked to find several items that hadn't even been washed before they were submitted! I mean there was even a boys uniform shirt that has a filthy collar and cuffs and reeks of BO! One would think that as Japan tends to be such a "clean" country this wouldn't happen.
Anyway, this is going to be a LONG week with the exhibition taking place this upcoming weekend!

Date Night!

H is off on a school ski trip for 4 nights so S and I actually had a date tonight. We went to a Japanese style pub and had some yummy food, got a coffee at Starbucks and then came home and watched tv. We will definitely have to do this more often. Hopefully H is enjoying himself as well. It's nice to not have to get up so early to make his packed lunch for a few days even though I miss him.

Tokyo Station

I just had lunch with my good friend NI without even going outside the ticket gates at Tokyo Station. We had yummy Risotto at small shop and then coffee at Dean & Deluca. How cool is that!?

TGIS!

After spending more than half the day at H's school at a parent's meeting I am finally ready for the weekend although I will only have tomorrow free. It was interesting talking with all of the other mothers as I am the only foreign mom. I feel like I have such a different outlook on things than they do regarding schooling. As long as H is happy there though I'm fine with it.
Anyway, have a great rest of the weekend everybody!

Long Time, No Blog

Well, sorry everyone for the long silence. Happy 2011!
Nothing really exciting has been going on.
H is really settling into school and loving it. It is great to see him thriving in such a positive atmosphere! His English writing ability is greatly improving and he doesn't seem to be so stressed about it any more.
We spent almost three weeks over Christmas and New Year's in Idaho skiing and enjoying the holidays in the snow. It was super cold though. Many nights were below zero Fahrenheit which is -20 or more centigrade. Brrrrrr!
Now that I have this blogger app on my iPhone I'll try to blog more!
